“I found Infinity Yacht Charters by Googling yacht charter in the San Juan Islands and called Michael Sawyer after stalling out with another yacht we had booked before meeting Michael. Michael returned my call right away and suggested JAMAL as a suitable charter for our requirements.
After looking at JAMAL online, I thought the yacht seemed ideal for our charter in August 2020. Our group of 6 friends and family wanted to have our own motor yacht with 4 cabins to cruise in the San Juan Islands, visiting remote harbors and scenic spots. We wanted to whale watch, kayak and hike. We wanted a crew that could provide expert navigation, great food and good service. Comfort and cleanliness were also important.
In the period before the charter, every effort was made to find out what we wanted for our cruise. The detailed form from Infinity helped us provide all the information that needed to be communicated about our preferences for food, drink, activities and destinations.
Before our arrival, Captain Jennifer Hanna and Chef Misty contacted me to refine our requests and touch base. When we arrived at the dock in Bellingham they and crewmembers Lena and Zane greeted us in crisp white uniforms to take our luggage and lead us to JAMAL gleaming in the sunshine.
We found our quarters to be spick and span and spacious. The whole décor of JAMAL is attractive and comfortable with homey touches everywhere. Beautiful fruit, flowers, and vegetables adorned Misty’s galley kitchen. The dining/ living area has a large table seating six or more and lots of space for lounging. On the spacious upper and lower decks outside we could sit in shade or sun. We couldn’t have imagined a better set up.
Champagne was offered as we watched preparations for departure, including onboarding of huge Dungeness crabs..
We thoroughly enjoyed every delicious meal. The lunch Misty prepared with the crab, accompanied by lots of Rosé was simply fabulous. Each day we were presented with fresh and inventive cuisine served with flair on a different set of imaginative table settings.
Our cruise itinerary lived up to our expectations. Captain Jennifer found secluded coves where we could hike and kayak, Roche and Rosario Harbors were interesting, and we were able to explore freely since we were tied up at the dock. Spencer Island offered us an especially great 6-mile hike to Turn Point Lighthouse on a gorgeous day as well as great kayaking and fishing.
We always felt we were in the best of hands. Nothing could go wrong with a personable and experienced leader as captain, a talented and charming chef, and Lena and Zane, the energetic crew, to do all the many tasks, cleaning, serving, helping the captain and the chef, giving us temperature checks and being always fun and cheerful.
The camaraderie of our tightknit group of friends and relatives was considerably enhanced by being on board JAMAL with her excellent crew. We thank them for creating that special atmosphere for us. We will be back for more!”
